Club History

Background

• Hampton is a developing township to the south of Peterborough.
• Hampton FC is a community-based Football Club with FA Chartered Standard status and fully qualified Coaches.
• We have been providing Football for the Hampton Community since 2003.

Hampton United (our Adult Team) was launched in 2021

• Hampton FC are proud to offer inclusive football opportunities for kids/adults of ALL ages and abilities.
• We are a registered provider of Inclusive, Walking and Wildcats (Girls) Football.

• We were Hunts FA Grassroots Club of the Year (2021-22).
• For the current (2023-24) season we have 17 Junior teams (U7s – U14s), 2 Youth Teams (U15s-U16s), 2 Adult (Hampton United) Teams, an Adult Pan Disability Team and 2 Walking Football Teams.

History

• In late 2019 Hampton FC almost folded.
• The Adult Hampton FC teams announced that they were leaving the Club to create a new one – FC Hampton.

                They took Junior teams, Committee members and financial resources with them – leaving Hampton FC with only 4 junior teams and no Club Secretary.

• Our initial response was to think about dismantling Hampton FC. We lacked experience of running a Club and the finances to do so.

• After much deliberation, the remaining Hampton FC Committee members regrouped with a determination to rebuild and improve the Club – with a focus on Junior and Inclusive Football.
• Everyone agreed to try and build the best possible community Club we could.
• Our journey since then has been incredible – which culminated in Hampton FC being awarded Hunts FA Grassroots Club of the Year in 2021.

What We Offer

• Hampton FC want to provide football opportunities for the whole of the local community.
• We also want to ensure that participants have the chance to play for as long as they want.
• Hampton FC do not believe that age, sex or ability should be a barrier to enjoying the ‘beautiful game’.
• We are very proud to have created a player pathway – from Junior to Adult to Walking Football.
• This has been achieved through the launch of a wide range of new football opportunities for the community:

• U6s training sessions – which provide a pathway into Hampton FC for those who want to play team football.
• Hampton United Adult Team.
• Junior Inclusive (Disability) Football.
• Hampton FC Adult Pan Disability Team.
• Wildcats (Girls) Football.
• Hampton FC Walking Football Team.
• We are really pleased and proud to see the growth in participation numbers since the launches of these initiatives.

Diversity

• Hampton FC realise the importance of Diversity within Football.
• Our Inclusive, Walking and Wildcats sessions provide football opportunities for all of the local community
• Hampton FC Teams include players from many different cultural backgrounds.
• We are very proud to have female Welfare Officers, female Coaches and female players.

Communication

• We use social media extensively to promote our football activities.
• Hampton FC has a Facebook page (‘Hampton FC’) and Twitter account (@HamptonFCPeter1).
• In 2022 we launched our new website (www.hampton-fc.com) which has enabled us to communicate more effectively with the local community.

It includes access to FA Policies, information of our teams and details of sponsors.
